Our Story
Growing up in a traditional Puerto Rican home, I woke up to the aroma of freshly brewed café in the morning. This perfect cup connected my parents every morning before Dad left to the firehouse. I started Chicago Coffee Dept. because my curiosity for coffee began at a very young age, not only was I attracted to the smell, the colors and size of the beans; but the way a simple sip could change the way people connected was beyond belief. Chicago Coffee Dept pays tribute to my family; a logo that is designed after my admiration for the Chicago Fire Department, whom my father devoted 26 years on the West side of Chicago and my Puerto Rican roots. Hence, my first blend derives directly from Puerto Rico.
